How to Utilise the Last 6 Months Before JEE Advanced
It
is time to buckle up and start preparing solely, with only a few months in
hand before JEE Advanced. Well, at this juncture, it’s not only vital to
have explicit knowledge of your goal but also how you can avoid distractions.
Do not panic and stick to the study plan that will get you ready for JEE.
A few time-tested tips, to help you
out here.
Plan Your Study, Subject Wise
Planning your routine study,
subject-wise helps in equal distribution and concentration on each one of them.
Do not skip or put off your least favourite topics for the later stage as that
will then become too much to take in. Always refer to the latest JEE Advanced
syllabus for your study plan.
Know Your Weaknesses
The
first step towards transforming your weaknesses into your strength is by
acknowledging them. It must have now become clear to you as to which subject is
holding you back. Start with that subject and put extra efforts including
coaching, tuition to clear your doubts, and in understanding the concepts and
then coming out with flying colours.
Also,
don’t just go by the clock. What really matters is how much you have been able
to cover in the stipulated time. Smart work is better than hard work. Make
handy notes for the covered topics to make revision easier towards the end.
Solve Online Test Series
1. Solving
online test series is a time-effective strategy to revise your syllabus.
2. Set
a target of solving at least 40-80 numerical problems daily. Implementing this
will help you get familiarized with the IIT JEE exam pattern.
Things to Keep In Mind
1. Physics:
Being clear and precise with your concepts will help you tremendously. It is
better to stick to the basics and solve enough question papers. Use block
diagrams for Physics as IIT asks questions entirely based on concepts, and if
you have that strong, it can fetch you full marks.
2. Math’s:
Try keeping the calculator aside. Practice from different books or worksheets
regularly. Nothing beats practice here. Use the mind mapping technique which
will help you to remember better.
3. Physical
chemistry- Be sharp and transparent in your concepts and practice them timely.
4. Organic:
Do not lean on the mug up method. Try solving as many questions possible. Your
real focus should be on its mechanism.
